In our darkest days, we feel alone. We feel abandoned. We feel that giving up is our only option because where is God? What is He doing? We cry out, but it feels like no one is listening.
These situations are devastating to our souls and our selves: physically and emotionally. Those who are strong are made weak. Those who are weak often want to give up.
However, there is hope.
Our GOD promises never to leave or give up on us, according to Hebrews 13:5.
GOD is not going to leave you.
He even sends His angels to watch over you. Psalm 91:11 explains that He gives them charge over you. They are walking with you in these hard times. The Holy Spirit is within you.
Time and time again, we are commanded to not be afraid, to not live in terror. However, when faced with depression, crippling anxiety, or any other diagnosis, life may seem impossible to navigate.
It would seem easier to give up, to reside within that fear, to stop leaving the house, to stop trying to fight.
However, we were not created or called to falter in the face of adversity, we are Lions of the Tribe of Judah and we are more than conquerors. We are mighty lions, ready to roar against our enemies. They will not be able to stand against us.
The enemy may appear to be stronger and more capable, but…
Jehovah is the creator and ruler and master of all things. Also, He gave us dominion and power and might against anything that stands against us.
Anxiety will not prevail. Depression will not conquer us. Grief will not undo us. Physical ailments will not stand in the way of our accomplishing the tasks Jehovah has set before you.
“Arise, for it is your task, and we are with you; be strong and do it.”
Ezra 10:4 (ESV)
I cling to this verse when I feel ready to give up. I think to myself about how I came near death on multiple occasions… My mighty Jehovah sent interference every time.
He was watching over me, even when I had given up all hope. He never gave up on me. And He has not given up on you, mighty warrior. You may feel outnumbered by your worries and struggles, but I promise you…More importantly, HE promises you, that you are going to win this battle you are in.
Own it. Take those promises and remember them in those moments when you feel like giving up and giving in. Your mighty Jehovah has your back. Jesus is there, extending mercy, peace, joy, and hope. Why? Because He loves you and knows your purpose. Trust. Battle. More importantly, have faith and keep fighting. He has not given up on you; He never will. Arise.
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you broken and afraid. But, You have promised that You will never leave us to battle alone. You are mighty. You are with us. While we may battle against many forces, we can trust that You have already won the battle.
We are merely waiting for the results.
Abba, give us strength to hold on. Hold us in Your merciful hands. Grant us hope and joy and give us a spirit to not give up. Jehovah, You are our King. You are our mighty fortress. You have already declared us yours and that the battle is won.
Thank You. We praise You. Teach us to trust.
