Be strong, and He will make your heart stronger, all you who hope in Jehovah.
Psalms 31:24 MKJV
In this world, this broken world, standing strong for our LORD becomes more difficult by the day. We watch people who talk about Jesus gunned down. We watch them get beaten and verbally attacked in person, on television, and online. And that is just here in the USA.
Imagine in other parts of the world, where just owning a Bible will earn you a death sentence, even for a child. We see how some Christians are beheaded, hung, and imprisoned. Just for their faith, they are considered dangerous.
Speaking truth has always been dangerous. Bringing light into the darkness terrifies the evildoers. They do not desire truth. They want to continue to believe that evil is good and no matter what, their pursuit is correct.
The very idea that Jesus died for our sins and wants to save the people of this world and have fellowship terrifies them. Why?
Because they will have to answer for their sins. They will have to admit that they had it wrong.
I am not chastising. No.
I actually want to offer hope. I want you all to remember Psalm 31:24.
Our Heavenly Father will always offer strength to those who seek it.
I also want us to remember that God wants us to have fellowship with Him. He did not create us to be alone in this crazy world. I know that is so hard to remember. I know because I have felt so alone lately. I have felt as though I am the only one holding my sword against the darkness that is my despair and the world closing in around me. I have looked at verses and tried so hard to open my Bible, but it too, seemed too heavy.
Be strong, and He will make your heart stronger, all you who hope in Jehovah.
Psalms 31:24 MKJV
I have sought out the Psalms and tried so hard. I finally just journaled and asked God:
WHY?
WHAT IS MY PURPOSE?
And I waited.
And I waited. And I cried. And I cried. I felt so alone. And then I heard,
Because you are No One, Share God’s Love.
When the Time Comes, What Will be Your Fruit?
He Will Know You By Your Fruit.
Will you continue to “Go along to get along” or will you “Live With Purpose”?
So, here I am, trying to bring light into the darkness.
I am no one and I am okay with that. Because God has claimed me as His Child. I am HIS.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
(1 Peter 2:9-10 ESV)
Father,
Lead us in Your will. Guide us to know how to act according to Your plans for our lives. Let us be prepared and not give in to the temptations of this world. Let us be strong. Help us to draw near to you and Your light. Help us to be a light in the darkness and proclaim Your truth and goodness.
Amen.
Shalom
